Some more Tea Party

I promised to put this card on the blog two weeks ago, and I am only now getting around to it. Sorry Pauline. Its a simple card using Tea Party papers and chipboard from the On Board So Tweet pack.
I'll back soon with the sample for the class on Saturday. If you can't wait you can click here to see a similar sample.

A new class for Wed 27th May, Mon 1st June and Saturday 20th June

I've often been told that people would love to come to my classes but can not make Wednesdays, so, I've decided as a bit of an experiment to offer this class on an additional day - Monday 1st June @ 10am, as well as Wednesday the 27th of May @ 10am and Saturday 20th June @ 10.30am.
In the classes we will be making cards using a lot of patterned paper from the Tea Party pack, aged to give it a soft vintage feel. This is not overly visible in the photos you will have to see the samples in person to really get the effect.

The second card also uses some chipboard from the So Tweet pack and hodgepodge (yep that's silver hodgepodge)

The third more chipboard and lots of glitter, as well as layered stamping to create the background paper.

And lastly, a post it note holder made from chipboard and covered in paper.
The class cost is $20 and covers all materials and tools. If you would like to attend on any of the three days please email me to reserve your spot. All welcome.

And some more glitter...

Just thought I would share another card I made using the sticky cuts from Stampin' Up. It's never to early to start thinking of christmas cards!

I love combining different crafts into card making. On this card I included some simple beading which gives it lots of texture and makes you want to pick up the card and touch it. Hope you like it.
I'll be back tomorrow with the next class samples....

Very glittery

I just love using the new sticky cuts!! They are so easy - just stick on the cardstock, peel off the protective top layer and pour glitter of choice on top. I then shake off the excess (a soft brush also helps to get the excess off), then repeat with the next coloured glitter. Even my kids are loving using these.

The rub ons in these are from a retired set last year.

This card looks a little boring, but the black is actually flocking powder, so it is lovely to touch. You could also use small beads, sand, or even embossing powder. Ummmm must try these soon.

Mum's card and gift.

I hope you all had a lovely mother's day. I spent the day with the family here at my house where we all enjoyed lunch together. I cleaned up on the soap department - I think maybe the kids are trying to tell me something!
Anyway, here is the card I made for my mother. I started making this at 11pm the night before so keeping it simple was of paramount importance as you can guess. Inside the card it read,
' do it the way your mother told you'.
I did this on the computer for the sake of speed. The chipboard shapes were a gift from mum at christmas. The paper I used was 'Bella Bleu', and the stamp is from the friends 24-7 set on page 81 of the catalogue.

I created matching wrapping paper with brown paper and some quick stamping. If I had more time I would have decorated the white bit of paper too (or used some bella bleu paper), but at 1am my head was not quite thinking straight.

New classes for Wednesday 13th and Saturday 16th May

These are the samples of the cards we will be making in the next two classes. The first pictured above uses the stamping technique of rock and roll. Its really easy but can create unique and effective results. This card would be lovely for any child, male or female, or even a 'big kid'.

The second card uses lots of simple tricks you will love. A super easy trick with punches everyone was shown at convention, a faux bow, and more rock and rollin'. We will also use the new sticky cuts and glitter... Yep the brown flower is all glitter.

This card suitable for males or females of all ages, uses the usually thrown away part of the fresh cut note cards to make simple flames. This card won't take you long if you have to whip up a card for a party in a hurry.

And the last card uses simple paper piercing to create a funny card, great for a friend or family member with a sense of humour.
I have tried to create cards this time that can be used for a variety of uses, that will be great to have on hand for when those unexpected things pop up. I really hope you like them.
If you would like to make them and attend the class on either Wednesday the 13th at 10am or Saturday the 16th at 10.30am please email me to reserve your spot. The class cost is $20 and includes all materials and tools. You can also purchase any of the materials we use in the class from me. I do not charge postage (5%) to any one who attends the classes.
I also have spots left for the floral class tomorrow morning if any one feels like coming along. You can find the class desciption here.

A baby boy card and convention highlights

I was recently asked for a religious baby card and instantly thought of the 'Special Blessing' and 'God's Blessings' stamp sets. I did not have a great deal of time to make this card, hence the very simple layout. The silver embossing and the beaded name give the card a little detail and help to make it a little interesting (well I hope!).
The annual Stampin' Up comvention was held last weekend and unfortunately I was not able to attend due to prior committments. But if you would like to read all about it, Claire has a really good description of some of the events. Click here to go to her blog. Next year it will be in Sydney so there is no way I will be missing out!!! If you would like to attend, just join Stampin' Up with me before then. This month its really easy with a special scrappers starter kit priced at only $150. For more details just contact me, and I will be happy to chat with you about it.
