A wedding card

Hi everyone, how are your christmas preparations going? Christmas just seems to have snuck up on me this year. I can't believe there are only two weeks to go.
Well classes have finished for the year, but Stampin Up still has some terrific specials going on. Email me if you want the details and I'll pass them on. I am still happy to place any orders, even if it means you pick it up after christmas, or if you place an order over $100 I can ship it directly to you for free.

This is a wedding card I made last month for my lovely cousin Deann and her husband Brant (hence the db logo).
The letters were cut with my trusty big shot, some embossing in the background and a tiny sentiment stamp were all that were needed. I worked on the invites for Deann too, so I was able to match the colours exactly. I so love it when everything matches. Must show you the invites too!

The ribbon is the ruffled pool party. It is really nice to work with, and the colour is one of my favourites.

Looking out the window at the moment and it is looking very dark. When is this rain ever going to stop?

New mini launch

Wow, this time of year just gets so busy. But, if you can spare a few hours this Saturday (or next wednesday the 30th) why not drop in to make a few quick projects and get your hands on the new Stampin' Up mini, as well as enjoy some christmas snacks. It is going to be a bit more relaxed than usual so drop in any time between about 12 - 4pm. (no problem if you are late) The projects should take 2 - 2 1/2 hours. I will have some specials for you, a lucky door prize, a small gift and most importantly loads of delicious new products for you to inspect. Cost is $20. The wednesday class will start around 10am as usual.
This will be the last Saturday class for the year. I am hoping to resume them 21st January 2012.

P.S. The pic above is not showing the projects we will be making, you'll have to come to see those.

An easy xmas card idea

With christmas now less than two months away (scary thought isn't it?), I've been looking at making quick and easy cards, and this is one I came up with that was super easy. I used the back of a doily from the Flirtatious Specialty paper and simply rubbed some limeade and garden green ink on it. Then took a circle punch to the center of it, to make a wreath. Some beautiful seam binding ribbon and some gems and that was it. The intricate doily gives enough detail for it to look interesting.

Gift class - Wed the 2nd and Sat the 5th of Nov

Hello everyone and thankyou for dropping by to look at this weeks class. I wanted to concentrate this week on small gifts, that are super easy and quick to make. Perfect for this time of year when time is tight.

I just love the saying on this bag. I can think of lots of family and friends this would be perfect for, but if its not quite right for you I do have an alternate. The bag contains a few chocolates (included), but you could easily substitute this with any small gift.

Calendars always come in handy and you will love just how quickly this comes together. I can literally make a dozen of these in no time at all. They are also light so would make a great postal gift for friends.

This little tea light holder is again easy to make but would look lovely on the table at xmas, or packaged in a lovely box would make a great gift. I am including the battery operated candle with this, so it will be great to go straight away. You are welcome to change the colour of the ribbon to suit your taste. Red, green or blue would all work well. Surprisingly this was the project both my kids liked the best this time. I thought it would have been the candy cane holder!

And this is the candy cane holder, a little bit inspired by a card in the catalogue.

And lastly a homemade notepad made with cheap office paper and recycled denim, perfect for any girl. I will have other color options if green is not your thing. I was able to construct this really quickly after thinking about it for days! Some projects are like that, then you think why didn't I just think of this in the first place.

If you would like to come along and make these 5 gifts please email me so I can prepare a kit for you. Class cost is $25 and includes everything you need to make these completed gifts. I will be holding this class on Wednesday 2nd Nov at 10am and Saturday 5th Nov at 10.30am.

Now must run as I have a wedding to go to.....

Stitched Stockings

The santa stocking punch and stamp set is not just for christmas - this old fashioned horse can be made with it too. The ears are bits of the sole of the sock, and I used lined thread for the mane. The eye is made with one of the new mini brads. They are so cute to use, I just keep forgetting about them though!

Xmas class - Wed 19th and Sat 22nd

This weeks classes are all about Christmas yet again. I figure I can cut down greatly on your stress load if you already have lots of your gifts and cards ready before December when everything get crazy busy.
The first card is made really simple with the use of die cuts, but is rich in colour with the beautiful patterned gold paper and beautiful satin ribbon. Note the bow, I'll show you how to make this simply by cheating just a little.

Another gold card, with lots of little bits of detail for interest and lots of subtle shimmer.

Tags always come in handy to dress up a gift, so I thought I would include some in this class.

These tree tags are really fun to make with some simple folding. I'll have various papers out so you can choose your colour on the day.

It is no secret I love my mini milk carton die, and justly so because it is so versatile. And to prove this once again, I'll show you another simple project with it, to make a lovely gift box.

And my very favourite card, is this diamond fold card that involves no complicated measuring (I promise) and it is quick to whip up, but folds neatly to fit in an ordinary size envelope.
I am holding this class on Wednesday the 19th at 10am and Saturday the 22nd at 10.30am. Class cost is $25 and inclusive of all materials and tools.
If you would like to attend please RSVP so I can prepare a kit for you. All welcome.

Another simple card

Just popping in with another quick card, this time using the new stamp set 'Summer Solstice' (only $26.95 for clear mount). The images have lots of lovely detail, so look equally good coloured or in simple black. The greeting is from 'For My Family' The layout for this card came from the catalogue. Any guesses which page?

And a quick xmas one.

Christmas class - Wednesday 5th and Saturday 8th October

It's October already and christmas is looming closer than ever, so it's definitely time to start planning the big day. I have a few ideas in this class to make yours extra special.
My kids just love this little candy cane mouse. He is easy to make and best of all very cost effective.

This card features a new stamp set (Stitched stockings) and co ordinating punch (Stocking tag punch) available this month. I have had mine for a week and its already had a huge work out. Its a great size and very easy to work.

I am planning to make these tree boxes for the table on christmas day. I can image one on every plate.....you can make either the traditional green/red/gold tree or the more modern pink/green/silver one in the class. The choice is yours. They fit a packet of M&M's in them perfectly.

Every year I like to make some gift vouchers, and this years one is super easy with the new bookmark die. And the lovely doily on the front comes from the pennant die.

And lastly a singing reindeer card for a bit of fun. This card was inspired from one made by Jackie Topa. Lots of punches make this easy, its only the sponging that will take any time.
This class will be on Wednesday the 5th at 10am and Saturday the 8th at 10.30am. Class cost is $25 and includes all materials and tools.
If you would like to attend please email me so I can prepare a kit for you.
All welcome.

A few cards and last week for joining special

I have been so slack lately with my blog. Time just seems to slip away from me with all the things I need to fit into a day. But, since its school holidays and I don't have quite as much running around to do, I thought I would take some time to show some of the cards I have been making in the last month. All pretty simple and things you could easily case if you are stuck for ideas of your own.

It doesn't get much simpler than this. But with that beautiful font and pretty doily paper, I think you don't need much.

A great card for any young man. Simple and very bright.

I cased these next cards from the catalogue. Such a great source of inspiration. They are all made using the button buddies stamp set. I just love that little piggy.

Don't forget there is only one week left of the joining special. You can either purchase a mini kit at $169 or get 20% off the normal kit. The inside back cover of the catalogue has a picture of a few of the items you get, but remember you can customise your kit to include the stamps sets and ink colours you like. There has never been a better time to join than now. It has never been offered at such a great price.

Thanks for stopping by.

Introducing Pool Party and Island Indigo

Don't those names sound cool together? And both are just lovely colours. This is a simple little box I made with them with the Box No2 die. Also uses the new lace ribbon punch.

I still have room on Wednesday for my christmas card class if any one is interested. Just email me, so I can make a kit up for you.
And don't forget about the terrific joining special this month. You can get the normal kit at 20% discount OR you can get a smaller kit for just $169. Both are fantastic value as you get sooooo many lovely supplies in them, and they can be both fully customised to suit your style and need. And if you join this week, ( before September 25) there is an added bonus, but you will have to contact me to find out about that.
Cheers for now.

Christmas Cards Class

It's that time again. Time to start planning your christmas cards. If you would like some ideas, why not come along to this weeks class where I have some easy quick cards, and a more detailed one for those special people.

This card uses the new stamp set Merry & Type, and the beautiful new seam binding ribbon to create a traditional coloured xmas card. Some multi coloured stamping and layering, as well as lots of sponging, give this card interest. This card was inspired by one made by Betsy Veldman.

Notice that glitter. Its the new glass glitter that actually tarnishes in time for a lovely soft vintage look. I can see myself using this loads!

Okay, now I've shown you the harder card, here are the quick simple ones. First up, one featuring the new in colour, pool party. I love this colour, especially teamed up with some cherry cobbler ribbon. It was my first time using the triple layer doily punch too. All I can say is - wow. You have to try it!

Notice that frayed ribbon....just one of the little tricks I was shown at Regionals last week. A fantastic, full on day of tricks, techniques and ideas. Oh the things I have to show you...

Now back to our cards, I thought a matching gift card would be perfect, incorporating a hand made tassell. I used to love making these when I was a child, and making them as an adult is just as much fun. I have made this flat without embellishments so the recipient could use it afterwards as a book mark.

I have always wanted to make a button card in the classes, but its hard, and not to mention expensive to use too many buttons at once, but... with these handmade paper buttons its sooo easy and cheap. I am completely smitten with that lovely greeting from Contempo Christmas. How I wish I could write like that.

Notice that beautiful new paper, Mocha Morning Specialty. It has gold metallic ink on it. Yum! There is some sparkle on this card with some glitter, but its completely disappeared in the photo.

And last but not least, a very modern card, where I have incorporated another cute trick I learnt at Regionals, embossing satin ribbon. This card was inspired by one I saw made by Stampin Up.
I am holding this class on Saturday 17th at 10.30am and Wednesday 21st at 10am if you would like to attend. Class cost is $25 and is all inclusive. All welcome, but please email me if you would like to attend so I can prepare at kit for you.
Thanks for stopping by.

I just love the new Pennant Parade stamp set and its matching punch. Makes these little flags so quick and easy to make. They would be just perfect at a kids party.

Introducing Wisteria Wonder

Let me introduce you to one of the newest colours available, Wisteria Wonder. Its a beautiful purple colour with a hint of grey in it, making a very sophisticated shade. Perfect for ladies. I am so happy to have another purple, we needed it.

Now this card will be very familiar to many of you. It's just one of the projects we completed at my launch last Saturday. It was a simple card that didnt take long to make, but l think many of you liked. It not only uses the beautiful new colour, but the most gorgeous stamp set, Delicate Doilies and its matching papers. And......my most favourite ribbon, seam binding. It is so thin, with a slight sheen and is so lovely to work with. I love the fact that it will still fit into an envelope without bulk, making it perfect to post.
If you would like to try this ribbon without purchasing a whole roll, I am making up packs of 1m of 7 colours for $9.90 with postage additional if required. This way you can see for yourself just how nice this ribbon is without breaking the bank.

It also used a new embossing folder too. Did you notice the embossing folders went down in price?

Now this card was one I designed for my wonderful group of downlines to make at a recent training. It uses a lovely new stamp set called Field Flowers. This stamp does look a little weird in the catalogue as it is designed for the stamps to be layered on top of each other creating a build up of different colours. Very clever and the results are stunning. I can see this set coming out alot.

Male Card Class - Sat 20th August

My latest class is all about the other sex - the male. Now I know loads of ladies who dread making the male card. But I'm sure you will find you will enjoy it just as much once you start exploring the lovely textures and colours you can incorporate into male cards.

The first card incorporates these oh so cute little shirts. They are so easy to make and if you are anything like me you will want to make a dozen of these to have on hand. They really are very easy.

Then we will move onto something that will take a little longer. This card is a little different from the usual. You can make one for 'dad' like me or 'Son' if you prefer or even a three letter name would work. I think this card would also work really well on a scrapbook page. Just add a black and white photo on a 12 x 12 and voila you are done. The sentiment can also be changed if you desire or even leave it off all together.

This card is filled with interesting texture, that is easy to achieve, and the background uses a retiring stamp set, Sense of Time.

I was really happy with how this card turned out. It is simple and elegant, but has interest in the sparkly stamped sentiment, that is packed with detail- Engraved Greetings. I love this stamp. This would make a great card for any man.

And then I thought we better make a quick card with some embossing, using some lovely blue shades.

And finally one for the teenagers with some layered stamping.
This class is offered on Saturday 20th only at 10.30am. Cost is $25 and includes all materials and tools. Please email me if you would like to attend so I can prepare a kit for you.
All most welcome.
