Class Wednesday 3rd September 10am

Can you believe its September already. This year seems to be going so fast.
These cards you have seen before, but by request I will now be running a class on them - Wednesday 3rd September.
In the class we are going to be doing lots of watercolouring, using a few mediums - pencils, markers and inks. We'll also be doing some faux stitching and scallop punching, techniques I love and use often.
If you are not a 'pink' person and would prefer to make the cards in a purple scheme, let me know as I am happy to accomodate.
Email me to reserve your spot.

Bag of cards class - Saturday 30th August - 10.30am

Now I know you've seen this before, but I have had numerous requests to run this again.....so, this Saturday at 10.30am I will offer the class again. This class involves making the four cards pictured using the crayon resist technique and the bag to place the cards (or a gift) in. I personally think this would make a lovely present and its much easier than you would guess. We will also use a wheel, and see just how easy it is to colour flowers to suit your project.
If you would like to attend this class please email me to reserve your spot. Be warned Saturday classes do fill fast!

I love Watercolouring!

Sometimes late at night when I'm too tired to think, but feel like I should be working I'll get out the blender pen and watercolour. It's a lovely relaxing way for me to end the day, and always makes me feel like a child colouring-in a picture book. I love it! This card uses the SU 'Bloomin' with Beauty' set - again, and the Spring Fling SU papers.

It will be Father's Day before you know it!

This card was made using a left over piece from the faux leather mini book (class Wed 20th August). The card also uses Outlaw paper, hodgepodge hardware, brown grosgrain and the small ribbon is white coloured with sage shadow chalk, all from Stampin' Up. The letter stamps are unfortunately retired (sob!).
Everyone attending tomorrow will have enough faux leather left over to complete two cards at home, which will co ordinater nicely with the mini book. The other I'll show you tomorrow.

More Cards

This card is a little bit different from my normal style. I used the 'Bloomin with Beauty' set again, (have I told you I love this set!) and the spritzer tool to get the mottled effect. I have used one of my favourite colour combinations, pretty in pink and going grey.

A close up. All materials except the pearls (Kaisercraft) are from Stampin' Up.

I was asked to do a sea themed 21st card - and even though I love beach scenes my supplies were a bit limited in this area. In the end I used 'Itty Bitty Backgrounds', the spritzer tool and crystal effects (you can just see the small drops on the sand at the bottom) to create an abstract card. The star fish I have had in my stash for years. The row of eyelets was really easy using my mat pack. Love this tool!

Faux leather mini book class - Wed 20th August 10am

This weeks class is all about texture. In this class
you will create a faux leather mini book, where
paper is amazingly transformed into a leather
like material. I have worked on this technique for
a few years now and have worked out a few touches
to make a realistic look and feel. You'll also create
faux metal accents, faux stitching, and use a paper
crimper to create a book you'll want to touch.
This book would make an amazing present for dad
or the hubby for Father's Day, or like me you could
just put pics of the kids in it.

A pic showing some of the detail on the front cover.

The book will include 3 pages with flip outs
a perfect space for journaling. No need to bring
any photos, (I used 6 full size photos in mine)
these can easily be inserted at a later date.

If you would like to make this mini book, please
email me to reserve your spot.
Class cost is $20 and is all inclusive.

And here's another

Here's my second attempt with the 'Bloomin with Beauty' set.
The diamonds are from On Board Accents (pg140 of the catty) and the rub-ons from the Cherished Memories pack.

Just loving this set!

I've been very busy the last week so I have not had a lot of time to play. But last night I had the opportunity to play with this new set 'Bloomin with Beauty' from the new mini catalogue. These are great images to watercolor - for this flower I used my watercolour pencils, so easy! I have another I'll share with you tomorrow.
Thanks Angela (A fellow SU demonstrator) for sharing this beautiful set with me.
All materials used to make this card are from Stampin' Up and are available from me.
