Class - Wed April 1st, 10am and Sat 4th, 10.30am

My next classes are on the 1st and 4th of April, and with them the start of a brand new Stampin' Up catalogue. I think you are going to love it! There are so many new stamp sets, papers (just loooove the new papers!) ribbons, glitters, flowers, butttons, brads and new colours in inks, cardstocks and accessories.
So, I thought we could welcome the new catty in with a glass of champagne (Kahlua for you Sue) and a few projects using the new colours and stamps.

The first project will be a quick little easter bag, that could easily become a card if your not one to give out chocolates, using the new pink piroutte cardstock. (It's alot lighter than pretty in pink.) And we are also going to use a wheel in this, because I know I don't use them nearly enough.

Secondly, this super quick card uses two new colours, baja breeze and pacific point. This card and matching envelope won't take more than 10mins to make.

Then we have a little water colouring, some more use of the wheel and the new colour kiwi kiss to make a another simple card.

And lastly, another card for the blokes. It uses a great new stamp set, that has unlimited appeal. You will see this used alot. The card layout for this one comes directly from the new catalogue.
The classes are on at 10am on Wednesday the 1st of April and 10.30am on Saturday the 4th April. Class cost is $20 and includes all materials and tools and a brand NEW catalogue.
If you would like to attend this class on either the Wednesday or Saturday please email me to reserve your spot. I think they should be alot of fun. Everyone welcome.

A rare chance to scrapbook.

I don't often get a chance to scrapbook these days, however one day last holidays, my son asked me to scrapbook with him. Now I know through past experience his concentration for this lasts about an hour, so I had to work quickly. I used the Crew Kids Simply Scrappin kit, because everything is provided (except the brads) and it all co ordinates making the job much easier, and faster. It ended up taking about hour and a half, which is the quickest page I have ever completed.

I was not the one behind the camera taking this shot, hence my son's quizzical look at my brother in law.

Next weeks class will be posted tomorrow (hopefully).

I'm addicted to felt flowers!

I just love the new felt flowers in the curent mini. But then I guess I love anything that gives a card a great tactile quality. There's just something about the feel of a material on what should be a paper product that appeals to me. Does that make sense?.....
Anyway, the card above uses the Secret Garden Simply scrappin kit, felt flowers (of course), and the stamp set Occasional Greetings (ink applied with a marker), old olive cardstock, always artichoke grosgrain and a few gemstones.

This card also uses felt flowers, but this time with paper from the spring silhouette pack. I used some buttons (now retired and sold out) the hostess stamp set So Many Sayings, some white grosgrain and of course some gemstones.

And lastly this card uses the Afternoon Tea papers (from the current mini), some soft sky and choc chip card stock, choc chip taffeta ribbon, and the stamp sets Occasional Greetings, Frames with Flourish, and the butterfly from Live Your Dreams.

I'm going blue

I've just had a terrible week with loads of monitor troubles, which has resulted in today purchasing a new one. Don't you just hate when your computer does not perform properly!

Anyway, I have made heaps of projects over the last few weeks, so I will endeavour to show you a few over the next few days. The first is a card I was asked to make which had to be not 'too girly' or flowery. I used the Spring Break designer papers ($8.96 for 12 sheets) some sky blue and blue bayou card stock, Cherished Memories Rub ons and blue bayou stitched ribbon. The white letters are from Making Memories.

The second project is a card book made from the beautiful Spring Silhouettes designer papers (also only $8.96). I just love these papers, they are going to be missed in this household. I also used some wild wasabi and sky blue cardstock, a flower from the pretties kit, and some ribbons and gemstones.

This pic shows one of the page spreads from within the book.
These papers and cardstock are only available till the end of the month.
I'll be back soon with some more samples, so stay tuned.

Next class is Wed March 18th and Sat 21st

These classes will be the last before the new catalogue comes out so I really wanted to use some retired stamps and accessories for the last time in the classes. In this card we will be using the beautiful river rock cardstock, the retired flower punch and a stamp set from the mini, Eastern Blooms (also finishes at the end of the month).

In these cards (you can choose between the card above and below). we will use the stunning sky blue cardstock, ink, ribbon and designer papers - spring silhouettes. We'll also use my all time favourite stamp sets, petal prints and linen. If your not into sending Easter cards, don't worry you are free to choose another greeting.

For this card we will use the stamp sets Floral, Wonderful Words and Mostly Flowers, all sets that have been well used over the last year. The idea for this card came directly from the 07/08 Stampin' Up catalogue. One of the many reasons I purchased Mostly Flowers in the first place.

And finally, I thought it would be nice to make a card, for the often overlooked other sex. I used the outlaw designer papers, and stamp sets, Bronc Buster and the versatile starstruck. I just love how this set works with the star punch!
If you would like to come along to either the class on Wednesday the 18th at 10am or Saturday the 21st at 10.30am please email me to reserve your spot. Remember its also your last chance to order any retired products, many of which are heavily discounted.

Some Secret Garden Cards

These cards were all made using the secret garden simply scrappin' kits which are sadly set to retire at the end of the month. All the cardstock, papers and cardstock stickers are included in the kit which makes these cards really fast and easy to create. I have made heaps of cards with this kit so will have more cards to post soon.

Retirement party

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all that attended the retirement party on Friday night. We managed to raise $1,135.00 for the Cancer Council on the night, while giving away lots of prizes to some lucky ladies.
Here are three of the ten cards that everyone made on the night.

The cards used mainly retired stamps, in colour cardstock and punches.
Remember all items on the retired list are only available till the end of March.

The retired list is here

The retired list has now been decided. You can find it here.

http://www3.stampinup.com/au/documents/RetiredList_0309_AUNZ_Num.pdf

Alot of the items have been discounted, but are only available to stocks last.
They have already run out of Sky Blue, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, and Groovy Guava refills so if you want something from the list please be quick. I procrasted last year about a few items, and they sold out in the mean time, and I am still kicking myself.

Don't forget if you attend a class in April I will give you a new Stampin' Up catalogue for absolutely free (RRP $12.95). It should provide you with hours of enjoyable reading.

Come to any of the classes in march, and I'll have some extra bargains for you also.
