Spring mini starts today!!

Have you seen the new Stampin' Up! spring mini yet? I just love it, the variety and the prices are fantastic. The card above uses the new set 'Great friend', good old 'Baroque Motifs', and some flowers and pearls from the pretties kit. I can see already this set will be a favourite of mine.

During the school holidays our team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators got together and all made a card which we shared with one another. It's such a great way to get new ideas, and use products you may not have, as well as catching up on a chat with everyone. Anyway, this card was designed by Jayne Mercer using the same set. It's a very simple card which would be easy to duplicate and make it bulk if needed.

This card uses the new set named 'Forest Friends'. It also includes a deer and owl stamp, so cute!

And did you notice the new oval scalloped punch.....all I can say is wonderful!!

This card uses the new set 'Just Beachy'. This would make a great fathers day card for the man who loves fishing.
We managed to make 10 cards on the day, but I'll show the rest another day, as I must start packing for the St Ives Heritage Craft Fair on tomorrow. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello and pick up a copy of the new mini.

Another 'I wish"

Here's another christmas card made using the 'I wish' Simply Scrappin kit. I just love those cute little clips! You could have alot of fun with this card and write your own wish list on it ...lots of sleep, lots of stamps, a long holiday....the possiblities are endless.
Be sure to check back tomorrow as Stampin' Up! has a brand new mini starting tomorrow, and I have some samples to share.
See you then.

Flower pot card class on Sat 25th and Wed 29th July

These flower pot cards have been all over the internet, and I thought they were so cute I would include them in this weeks class. The card pictured above uses the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and the easiest watercolouring you will ever do.

The second card uses Petal Pizazz and some stamp kissing to give texture to the flowers. It also includes some brand new product available Aug 1st in the new mini. Both the flower pots fit into a standard size envelope so they can be posted.

I thought I had better include a pic of inside the flower pot so you understand where you would write your greeting.

This class is on Saturday the 25th at 10.30am and Wednesday the 29th July at 10am. Class cost is $20 and includes all materials and tools. All welcome but you must email me to reserve your spot.

Xmas cards...first installment.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that came to the christmas in July card class. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces as well as the lovely ladies who ventured here for the first time. I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I did.
I promised to put the cards on the blog for you, so here's the first installment.

All materials for these cards are from Stampin' Up except the white satin ribbon and white card bases. They all use the 'I Wish' Simply Scrappin kit.

More tea party!

I just wanted to show this card because yet again I have used the wonderful 'Tea Party' papers. By teaming them with Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, So Saffron and Gold cardstock you get a whole different feel from these versatile papers. I also used a stamp from 'God's Blessings' stamp set for this card and some flowers and ribbons from my stash. Now I just hope Colleen likes it!

A butterfly card

This was an easy card to make using a very basic layout.
The butterfly was made by tracing the shape on kiwi kiss card and cutting out, and stamping with 'Simply Said'. I used a sheet of paper from Urban Garden as the background, and a greeting from 'Its your Birthday'. The antenna I drew on with a white gel pen.

My beach card

This is a card I made when I was asked to do one with a beach theme. I used glossy cardstock which I sponged with bashful blue for the sky, ballet and tempting turquoise for the water and banana and saffron for the sand. I also added some white highlights before stamping the 'Inspired by Nature' stamp (I just love, love, love this stamp) in choc chip. I finished it off with some small glitter highlights.
My DH however, thinks it looks nothing like a beach!!!!!

I've just discovered Candy Lane papers!

Have you noticed how beautiful the Candy Lane papers are? I have to admit I didn't until this week. But now I've discovered them.....I just love the subtle colours, so peaceful.
This card was made using the Friends 24-7 stamp set and matching wheel, pink pirouette and very vanilla cardstock, Candy Lane paper, pretties kit flowers, gemstones, brads, pearls, some ribbon and basic grey chipboard letters. The star fish was added because Ann loves the beach. Oh, and some glitter of course!

The Friends 24-7 stamp set and wheel was designed by Shelli (the co-founder of Stampin' Up!). I think she did a beautiful job, and love the variety of stamps in the set. Check it out on page 81 of the catalogue.

This is a card using the Special Blessing stamp set. This was, for me, a must have set because it covers alot of areas I have been unable to cover in the past. I love how simple cards have a lot of interest due to the detail in the stamps. I also used the Candy Lane papers again.
