Lots of gifts - Class Wednesday 6th August

This class is all about small gifts you can make for friends, teachers, or stocking fillers. I really believe we all spend so much on craft materials that we should be using them wherever possible to get the maximum valve from our supplies. (Does this make sense? I'm sure you know what I mean here.)
Anyway, first up is a notepad. There are heaps of varieties out there, telephone message pads, post its, plain pads that could all be used for this design.

This is a close view of the bookmark. the idea for this came from some I saw in a bookshop for $12.


This is a matching card using the beautiful new stamps and punches available in the mini catalogue this month. Don't you just love new stuff!

And last, but not least, a magnetic shopping list and pen holder. When the pad is finished ($2 for a pack of 6) you can easily refill it.
All of these gifts would be inexpensive to make, but would hopefully be treasured by the recipient.

Get ready for summer

One day while surfing the many great blogs out there, I discovered these cute iceblock cards and just had to make them. They look great in heaps of colors (red, pink, yellow) and were super quick and easy to make. I did make quite a few of them, but then my sister spotted them and decided to take them. And the best thing about them, the fruit stamps used are only $21.95 for 4 (you also get a strawberry and a cherry - I'll use the cherry on my xmas cards as well) and you can use scraps of card and ribbons. I love using my scraps, it always gives me a sense of satisfaction to use something that might otherwise be thrown away. I think these would make fabulous invites for a party or a great card for a child.
My class samples are almost finished, just a bit of tweeking on one of the items, so will post tomorrow.

Housewarming Card

I've had this metal house in my collection for ages, so when I was asked to do a house warming card it was the first thing I thought of. I also used the 'Outlaw' papers and the vanilla grosgrain ribbon. I just love the thichness of this ribbon and feel it adds to any card. The Baroque Motifs set was used for the swirls in the corners.

Another 'Lovely as a Tree' card

Another simple card using the beautiful "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set.

I used a brayer for this one and glossy card stock. Super easy but effective. This card has lots of glitter on it, it just does not show up in the photo!!!

First play with watercoloring pencils

I finally gave in and bought the water color pencils from Stampin' Up and have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of them. The leads are really soft and blend beautifully, so my first attempt, as seen above was quite easy to achieve. I'll use them in a class soon, so everyone can have a play with them......The beads hanging from the ribbon are from the pretties kit.

A request

I had a request for a card for this card - Opa is german for grandfather.
I used the 'Outlaw' papers, my paper piercing guide and the retired copper ink on the chipboard letters.

Hi everyone,
Can you believe we are half way through the year already.... so that means time to start preparing for Christmas. This year I'm going to be organised, I say that every year, but this year I'm starting now.
In this weeks class we going to complete 4 cards and envelopes (1 of these is a small gift card), with lots of glitter and sparkle and a definite wintery theme. The class will cover embossing, stamping with glitter, eyelet setting, using punches, using mounting tape and emboss resist. I will also have lots of suggestions and samples for you if you would like to re create these at home in a simpler fashion. Class cost is $20 and covers all materials and tools and a little xmas morning tea. Please email me if you would like any further information on this class or if you would like to attend.
