Introducing the new Petite Purse Die

I have a confession to make. I love handbags. Absolutely love them. It doesn't matter how many I have, I can always have more. So when I first saw this petite purse die a few months ago on an american blog, I just had to have it, and have been waiting impatiently ever since. The best thing about it is, just how easy it is to make these little beauties. Just two small strips of adhesive to assemble the bag and then two more to attach the handle, which makes it perfect to make in bulk for christmas, birthday parties, baby showers or just beautiful little gifts. I thought today I would start with showing you some christmas ones.

A typical santa bag, well nearly!

This one reminds me of Dorothy's slippers in the Wizard of OZ.

A nice elegant one using 'Be of Good Cheer' DSP on the flap.

Introducing the new 'Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags'

Wow, that was one long heading. But,that's the name of the new tags available in the mini. They are so cute, and so easy to use as they come pre cut in that beautiful shape, already printed (page 12 and only $6.95 for 25). I just added the greeting and mounted it on a piece of Festival Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. Have you noticed that yet? Its on page 20 in the new mini ($11.95) and contains 40 sheets of card size printed paper. One side has a traditional red/green theme, and the other a blue/red or brown theme.

Some very quick cards, with the help of the new co ordinating stamps and dies.

Christmas mini class

It's September and that means new catalogue time!!!!!! So excited to share these two new publications with you. They are both stunning with loads of inspiration and beautiful new product. If you attend the class this week, I will be happy to give you the new mini (and the new catalogue if you didn't attend the last class).
So onto the cards for this week. New glitter paper and a fab snowflake die, plus new in colour and DSP make up this card. Easy and quick, but lots to entice.

Then we have a classic card using some new framelits and stamp set, and some new ribbon too.

This card you will recognise from the mini if you have it. Some new cardstock and beautiful tulle ribbon. I have to say I was sceptical about this at first, but once I got my hands on it, it was definitely love.

And to finish off a simple cards with lots of layering. And yes the tree is cut out with a new framelit, so easy. I think you will love the new stamp set with matching framelits!

My beautiful pillow box die

When the retiring list is released each August at midnight, I carefully go through it - yes at midnight, and check out all the things I wont be able to use again in my classes. The biggest shock for me this year was the pillow box is retiring. Wow, my beloved pillow box, which I have loved since I first laid eyes on it, is retiring. You can do so much with this, and it makes a wonderful quick easy gift with a few chocolates in it. I know I won't be parting with my die anytime soon.

Anyway, I managed to make up a few samples with it last week, amongst the chaos of the house while preparing for the fundraiser.

I love handbags!!! And the pillow box makes quick easy one if you just add a simple handle. And the paper - retiring moccha speciality paper. Always loved this. Just had trouble cutting into the beautiful flocked pieces till now, because they are soooo nice.

I think this was my favourite one.

These little mummies don't take long to make at all. Just wrap pieces of torn white paper around the pillow box and then add some eyes. Even kids can do this one, and best of all, they would be great for boys. It is always hard finding things for boys, there is just not that much around for them! I must add I did case this from the internet, tons of them around so not sure who the original inventor was.

Last year at our regional Stampin' Up day, they demonstrated how easy it was to put material through the bigshot to make boxes. It is simply adhered to cardstock with adhesive sheets first and then cut. It makes a lovely strong and tactile box. And see that beautiful satin ribbon, retiring too - I know madness!

This one does not need much explaining. I simply cut out the box with gold cardstock and then run it through the bigshot again with the embossing folder. Simple, quick, but effective.

And lastly, you may have noticed these in the photos from the last post. Pillow boxes, made flat for the silverware on Xmas day.

A wonderful day

Wow, what a day Saturday turned out to be. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, a lovely location and 80 very happy ladies attend our Cancer Council Fundraiser. We managed to make over $2,000 to donate. Isn't that terrfic! I have quite a few photos of the day to share with you, hopefully I will have some time tomorrow to download them.
I would like to thank each and every one of you that attended and to those that could not make it, but donated anyway. Thankyou. Every bit counts, and its lovely to know I am surrounded by so many generous and giving people. I hope you all enjoyed the day and took home a prize or too, or even lots of inspiration for your own crafting.

Super simple class on this Saturday the 11th and Wednesday the 15th

Have you checked out the retirement list yet?? There were a few surprises and a few old favourites that appeared on it.
This class is centred around using those old favourites one last time. So sad, to see them go. But I am excited to get some new friends into the cupboard!!!
All the cards are super easy, and because the pillow box die is retiring (gasp, shock, horror!) I decided I had best make this cute little owl with you. I have cased this from various sites around the net, so not sure who was the original creator.
The class is $20 and is all inclusive, and would be a fabulous class for beginners.

Still some spaces left

Just a quick post to you some boxes I made recently. You may not be able to tell from the photos, but the boxes are covered in fabric, making them lovely to touch, and a bit more hardwearing too. You simply adhere the fabric to cardstock with an adhesive sheet, then run it through the bigshot and then assemble as usual. So easy!

Christmas in July card class

Its hard to believe I am doing a Christmas class already, but we all know that christmas just sneaks up on us quicker and quicker each year, and its a good feeling to feel you are prepared.
My first card is pretty angel card, with loads and loads of sparkle. I am a sucker for a good angel, I just love them!

Then we are going to do some watercolouring on this cute elf card, using SU's lovely watercolour paper to make it super easy.

Then its a simple little gingerbread man card. I have seen versions of this around the web, and then at a recent team meeting, the lovely Belinda Hennessey made one which reminded me how cute they were, and I just had to share him with you.
My kids would have demolished the gingerbread entirely in minutes. They don't mind a good gingerbread man cookie.

And I thought I would finish with a quick easy card, you could easily make up, if you require alot of cards to send out.

A card made by my Mum

My mother made this card using SAB papers from earlier this year. Isn't it cute?
I love how she uses so many flowers on the card and the red glitter paper just sets it off nicely. Do you know you can still order this? That is the red and silver glitter paper from the last mini as they are carryover items.

A great card for a boy

A simple card using the Take a Spin stamp set, without the spinner hands. I think this would be a perfect card for the slightly older boy. What do you think?
