Vintage Label gift card

This is another card we made at my recent training day. It's a simple little gift card using the free Sale-a-bration set Vintage Labels, and my all time favourite set Baroque Motifs. I just love how the stamps co-ordinate so nicely with the punches. It makes you wonder why this was not done long ago!

Well, its been a very busy few weeks around here, so I have not had much time for sharing with you lately. But I have lots to show you, so updates should become much more regular again.


This little easel card is one of the projects we made at my recent training days.My training days are free to all who join Stampin' Up with me, and are usually lots of fun. The card uses one of my favourite sets in the mini, which unfortunately finishes on the 31st March. It also is the end of Sale-a-bration so if you don't have your free set of stamps yet you still have a few days to get your order in.

Playing with colour

Have you ever looked at a card, and not liked it because of the colour? I do all the time.
On page 5 of the sale-a-bration brochure there is a card I did not particularly like using vintage labels, just because it was made with pumkin pie. Now, I liked the design of it, so I decided to make the card in another colour scheme. I chose rose red, kraft, pink pirouette, and baja breeze, and think it looks quite diferent to the original. But then, never being one to rest at one card, decided to try it again using another colour scheme.

This time I used, pale plum, perfect plum, bashful blue and kraft.

And then I tried some greens, celery, artichoke, mellow moss and kraft.

I ended up using the green colour scheme on the quote book because I liked this combo so much, and I must admit, it would not have been my first choice had I not gone through this process. Try it, you just might discover a colour combo you really love.

Riley's card

This is a card I had to whip up for a friend of my son's who was celebrating his 6th birthday.
It seems like there is a mountain of birthdays at the moment! Is it the same for everyone?

Anyway, I used the on board lots of letters for this card, because I just love using these, especially the serif font in the set. The little aliens were from scraps of papers I had lying around, and the ridng hood red went with it perfectly. I am finding this cardstock co ordinates with so many papers on the market. Its such a nice dark red. I also used some retired blue bayou cardstock, a metal edge tag, brads and a sale a bration set Happy Moments for the greeting.

I don't know if Riley liked the card, but I know his lovely mum did.

Birdcage card

This oh so simple card, was totally inspired from a wedding card I saw in a magazine lately. It uses two of the free sale-a-bration sets available till the end of March with any $100 order.

The birdcage was coloured with some chalks - a really quick and easy way to add some colour.

A quick cards class on Sat 6th and Wed 10th March

This weeks class is all about quick cards you can whip up very quickly. It's a bit of mixed bunch, using a few of my favourite stamps and punches.
The first card pictured above uses the fabulous butterfly punch. I am so going to miss this punch in April as it's not in the next mini.


This is another very quick card, but uses the technique of creating faux silk.... so easy and cheap to make, but provides a lovely and interesting texture.

This cute little owl was actually in our monthly Stampin' Up newsletter. I just had to share him with you. He is made totally out of punched shapes.

I am really loving black and white at the moment.

And lastly, I have been racking my brains for gifts I can give to the female adults in my family for easter, without giving them chocolate and without spending too much money, so came up with this idea of using the sweet treat cups filled with bath salts. (My mum uses the salts for soaking her feet.) They are really easy as you can image, but I think they will be well received.

Quote book class on Saturday 20th @ 10.30am, Wednesday 24th @ 10am and Wednesday 3rd March at 10am

Todays class initially started out as something else entirely, but kinda of grew and took on another form, that of an inspirational quote book. Perfect for times when you are feeling down and need a little pick up, or, it would make a terrific gift for someone you know who needs a little lift.


It has lots of interesting tags and pockets, so it involves a bit of a journey while looking through it, but best of all it includes a few different, but easy techniques with ink you will love.
The front uses a marbled background technique.




Boy was this hard to photograph! But you can probably see that.

The tag just peeking out from the top uses a mosaic background and I will also include a blank tag for you to put your own favourite quote on.

This is a card that goes into one of the envelopes.

This could include either a quote or a message for your recipient.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you are all having a wonderful day surrounded by those you love.
Here's a card I made celebrating the occasion using the I {heart} hearts set available in the mini. This is a great set to add to your collection because you not only get a versatile stamp set but are helping the people over Haiti with the donation Stampin' Up will give with the purchase of every set in February.


I love how many of the stamps co ordinate with a matching punch. It just makes it so much easier to get a great result.

Very pastel

Here is another card I made with my Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' kit. The stickers in this kit are so easy to use and can be positioned and repositioned over and over till you get it right. I just love that, as I never get it right first go. I also used one of the fluerrettes (crotched flower) from the mini.

Organic Outlines

This is a really quick and simple card I made with two of latest acquistions, Organic Outlines and Vintage Labels, my free sale-a-bration stamps. I think I going through a bit of a simple phase at the moment, just loving clean and simple and 'white'.

Sweet Nothings class on Sat 6th Feb @ 10.30am and Wed 10th Feb @ 10am

I had lots of fun creating these cards, and could have kept going for days if time permitted, as I still have lots of the kit left, so you may see some more cards on the day of the class.
This class will be a little different from the usual, as you will be given half a simply scrappin kit (Valued at $18.50) from which you can choose which cards or scrapbook page you would like to make. You can make 5 - 6 cards or a scrapbook page and card on the day and take the remains of the kit home.
The card pictured above is a simple easel card, that I promise won't take long to make at all.

Then I have lots of pink and pretty cards (with lots of glitter, which does not show up in the photo) for you to choose from.


Or some a little bolder. I've included some optional stitching on some of these, so I will have the sewing machine out for you to use, or you can faux stitch if you prefer. This class will be very flexible, as I will have lots of different greetings for you to use. If you need some wedding cards, thank you's or birthday cards, this is the class to get your stock up.


I've even managed to get a male card from the kit, and some vintage inspired cards as well.



If scrapbooking is more your thing, you could make this page (designed by Stampin' Up) on the day instead. Please let me know if you would like to make this, so I don't cut your cardstock up, and bring along the relevant photos to use on the page.
I will be providing the additional supplies needed on the day, ie ribbons, brads, inks, flowers, gemstones and lots of glitter, but I ask that you please bring along a timmer and/or sharp knife on the day to help moves things along smoothly. You are also welcome to bring along a camera to take photos of any of the cards you don't have time to make.
All welcome - this would be a great class for the beginner as well as the advanced. Please email me to reserve your spot.
