Mum's card and gift.

I hope you all had a lovely mother's day. I spent the day with the family here at my house where we all enjoyed lunch together. I cleaned up on the soap department - I think maybe the kids are trying to tell me something!
Anyway, here is the card I made for my mother. I started making this at 11pm the night before so keeping it simple was of paramount importance as you can guess. Inside the card it read,
' do it the way your mother told you'.
I did this on the computer for the sake of speed. The chipboard shapes were a gift from mum at christmas. The paper I used was 'Bella Bleu', and the stamp is from the friends 24-7 set on page 81 of the catalogue.


I created matching wrapping paper with brown paper and some quick stamping. If I had more time I would have decorated the white bit of paper too (or used some bella bleu paper), but at 1am my head was not quite thinking straight.

New classes for Wednesday 13th and Saturday 16th May

These are the samples of the cards we will be making in the next two classes. The first pictured above uses the stamping technique of rock and roll. Its really easy but can create unique and effective results. This card would be lovely for any child, male or female, or even a 'big kid'.


The second card uses lots of simple tricks you will love. A super easy trick with punches everyone was shown at convention, a faux bow, and more rock and rollin'. We will also use the new sticky cuts and glitter... Yep the brown flower is all glitter.


This card suitable for males or females of all ages, uses the usually thrown away part of the fresh cut note cards to make simple flames. This card won't take you long if you have to whip up a card for a party in a hurry.

And the last card uses simple paper piercing to create a funny card, great for a friend or family member with a sense of humour.

I have tried to create cards this time that can be used for a variety of uses, that will be great to have on hand for when those unexpected things pop up. I really hope you like them.

A baby boy card and convention highlights

I was recently asked for a religious baby card and instantly thought of the 'Special Blessing' and 'God's Blessings' stamp sets. I did not have a great deal of time to make this card, hence the very simple layout. The silver embossing and the beaded name give the card a little detail and help to make it a little interesting (well I hope!).

The annual Stampin' Up comvention was held last weekend and unfortunately I was not able to attend due to prior committments. Extra class on Saturday 9th May

I have decided to run the floral class again on the Saturday the 9th of May. If you could not make this Saturday but would have liked to have come, please email me to book in for the additional class. The projects will be the same as shown in the class for April 29th and May 2nd. All welcome.

I've been busy!

I've had a busy week whipping up lots of card orders, so I thought I would quickly show you them before I post them off.
The first card uses the 'Bloom Away' stamp set, which I watercoloured with markers. These cards are going overseas so the use of Australian flowers was perfect for them. So glad I bought this set!


I added some crystal effects to the image to give it some extra pop.

I put small droplets of the crystal effects on the waratah to resemble morning dew drops. Such a simple thing to do, but gives a great extra detail.... and you all know how I feel about that!

This card uses the 'Cheers for you' stamp set, and lots of my paper scraps. I am slowly working my way through them. The card is very glittery.

Another card using the same set. This time I stamped the champagne glasses on silver card and cut them out. A great way to get some colour if you are not into watercolouring.

Fun with rub ons.

I was lucky enough to recently have been given a pack of the SU Planter Box rub ons (thanks Jo), so I thought I had better make good use of them and see what I could come up with. This card also uses the new orange glitter and Urban Oasis papers.


To make the centres of the flowers darker I just used a dauber to rub some ink onto the page.


And here's another. It also uses the Urban Garden papers and the Greetings Eight stamp set.

Its an Urban Oasis out there!

Here are some very simple cards using Urban Oasis Paper and the stamp set Upsy Daisy. If you love paper as much as I do watch out for the special coming up in May......

Next class - Wednesday 29th April and Saturday 2nd May

I have lots of floral projects planned for the next two classes, that are all going to be alot easier than you would think. The card above features a beautiful new stamp set which we will stamp with markers after spritzing with water.
Its so easy you will want to make more of these.


Then we have some watercolouring creating a matching card and nail file in holder. I think this would make a great small gift (maybe a mother's day gift). I have even used my prized felt flowers on this! I just love the new colour baha breeze.


This card uses some shadow stamping, the new scallop edge punch and a new wheel. Its so easy, but creates a dramatic effect.


The above card features some simple gold embossing and the gorgeous new black velvet ribbon (not easy to see in the photo). If you are not in need of a mothers day card we can easily switch this for a birthday greeting.

Some light humour

Before making my own cards, I always used to buy 'funny' cards. So when I saw the new stamp set 'That's Funny', I was really pleased that I was able to combine a home made card with an element of humour. This card is pretty straight forward using some new papers, ribbon, staples, a button, linen thread and of course cardstock. I like the fact that this card could be used for a male or female.

A simple birthday card

This card was really easy to put together. It uses the Urban Oasis paper and On Your birthday stamp set. It took all of about 10 mins to put together.

Card organiser class - April 18th@ 10.30am

The next class is on Saturday 18th April at 10.30am. I will be running the card organiser class again for those that can not make it during the week. The organiser above in bashful blue was actually made by Sook San at the last class. She did a beautiful job (as always) with it. Homespun chick card

Hi all, I hope you had a great Easter yesterday. We had a fantastic day with the kids. They love finding the eggs as much as they enjoy eating them. The day they stop believing in the easter bunny will be a very sad one for me.

Heres a quick card featuring the new bella bleu papers and a good friend stamp set. I just loove these papers. I think they will be used alot around here.
